TWO PROJECTS OF IED BARCELONA WIN THE CONTEST JTI CLEAN CITY LAB DURING THE MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2014
Two projects created by students of the Master in Strategic and Creative Direction of Communication and Advertising have won the contest JTI Clean City Lab held by JTI (Japan Tobacco International) in collaboration with Future Concept Lab.
The objective of this fourth edition has been the development of communication projects focused on raising awareness of the impact of smoking habits on environment, with the intention of changing smokers’ behavior and reducing the waste generated by cigarettes in the urban context.
The project This is not a small problem realised by the students Anibal Tapias, Juliana Díaz, Joana Da Silva and Mauro Pizzignach has been awarded with the second prize because of the original way in which it shows the scale of the impact of pollution thanks to proportional resizing.
The project I was a cigarette butt realised by the students Alejandra Chinolla, Amparo Cativiela, Belén Páliz and Claudia Guevara has been awarded with a special mention for the insight suggested by large scale recycling, which forms the basis of the message.
The winning projects will be exhibited at the Salone de la Triennale di Milano during the Milan Design Week together with finalists, amongst which is the proposal Your city is your home also developed by students of IED Barcelona. This project’s purpose is to keep clean the urban context by establishing a connection within citizens’ mind between public places in the city and private spaces at home.
