IED students win 3rd prize in the Roca One Day Design Challenge
A team of students from IED Barcelona has won third prize in the 5th Roca One Day Design Challenge. The three students, who are on the Undergraduate Degree in Product and Interior Design , offered a new concept for a portable, flexible, multifunction washbasin designed for the “Nomad Generation”, young people who are constantly on the move.
The designers Alberto Martínez, Sumanjit Gill and Roser Villarreal designed Silink in just 9 hours. Their project consists of a washbasin made of water-repellent silicone to give it lightness, resistance, a high level of hygiene and malleability. It also turns into a bag for storing water or objects needed in the bathroom.
Among the 550 contestants in the challenge were other teams from the IED Barcelona Design department who presented innovative bathroom-related projects designed to provide more space, flexibility and customizability.
