IED REC for Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Design and Applied Arts

IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, official partner of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, thanks to a very successful visit to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, has launched a project in collaboration with the Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Design and Applied Art to forge an inspiring and productive experience for Russian and Spanish creative minds.

Professor Isabel Berz, the Head of IED REC, Research and Education Center in IED Madrid together with Professor Alexander Lavrentiev, Doctor of Arts, Professor of Stroganov Academy encourage students of both institutions to join this multidisciplinary initiative that aims to the creation of new & shared messages and languages which express the values of the new generation of thinkers and creatives finalizing in a handknit alpaca wool collection.

By connecting Russian art students with design students from Spain and the Peruvian artisan collective Las Manuelas, a global community without borders will be built. Each participant will be offered an enriching experience and opportunity for personal and professional growth.

Las Manuelas is a community, a methodology, a commitment, a project developed in collaboration with IED REC and the Peruvian NGO Movimiento Manuela Ramos, supported by Fundación La Caixa and Economistas sin Fronteras.

Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Design and Applied Arts (Stroganov Academy) is the oldest applied and industrial art university in Russia. Today the Academy prepares highly qualified specialists in popular artistic professions, among them: product, environment and graphic designers, muralists and sculptors, decorative artists, restorers and art critics.

IED REC is a research and innovation center of IED Group that through the union between the areas of Fashion, Design, Science, Crafts and Technology creates a space dedicated to research and education in fashion and design, develops academic formats, innovative methodologies, and experimental projects while connecting professionals, academic institutions, organizations, and companies from each of the focus areas.
