IED Barcelona at CCCB
INDE is a joint project by students from IED Barcelona Advanced Design School, ESADE Business School, and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia’s ETSETB and FIB schools. The project will be showcased at the exhibition entitled Human+, the Future of our Species, housed at the CCCB.
The INDE project has been developed under the Challenge Based Innovation (CBI) initiative, in collaboration with the CERN. The aim is to help bridge the gap between science and society by conducting an experimental training programme among students from all over the world.
The goal of the project is to reduce the number of hip fractures in elderly women by means of a skirt equipped with an automatic inflation device that detects falls.
In the context of the exhibition, a conference will be given by Alessandro Manetti, the Director of IED Barcelona, Luciana Leveratto, a teacher from IED Barcelona, Lotta Hassi, a teacher at ESADE, and Ramon Bragós Bardia, a teacher at the UPC. The paper will be entitled “Smart Clothing: how the Design Process and Science Can Merge to Change Lives.”
