IED at the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week

With the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week just around the corner, IED Barcelona is working on a variety of proposals to present some of the best projects carried out by students from the postgraduate course in Wedding and Ceremony Dresses Design.

– Keeping up the School’s traditional collaboration with the Gratacós fabric company, a special display has been put up in their shop window this year. Throughout April, shoppers and passers-by will be able to admire three designs by students Ana Carolina Jorge de Oliveira, María Fernanda González de Aragón and José Luis Bellón.

– The winner of the Pronovias prize will get to see his design on display at the Majestic Hotel. The project by José Luis Bellón drew its inspiration from contemporary architecture and the Swedish concept of “Mangata”, which describes the visual effect of moonlight reflecting on water.

His work will be on show from 13 to 20 April in the hotel lobby.

– During the upcoming BBFW fair (from 23 to 29 April) the School’s students will be able to personally show visitors how they have learnt to master the moulage technique applied to wedding dress design.

Attendants will also get to contemplate the moulage that won the Gratacós prize, designed by José Luis Bellón
