Eme3 and 48h Open House at IED Barcelona

Don’t miss two appointments with architecture and design at IED Barcelona during the week of 19 October.

During the weekend of 24 and 25 October, IED Barcelona will open its doors as part of the festival 48h Open House BCN. For two days there will be guided tours of the architecture of the building that resulted from the rebuilding and rehabilitation of the Macson textile mill, which dates from 1952. The design was the work of Franconi Gonzalez Architects in cooperation with PROA Solutions.

Place: IED Barcelona
Date and time: Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm / Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm

From Monday 19 to Sunday 25, the IED will be one of the venues for the eme3 International Architecture Festival. This event provides a place to meet and exchange ideas, discover different views and share ideas about architecture by getting involved at first hand in contemporary issues affecting our social and urban environment and creating optimistic perspective and new practices.

During the week the school will hold a lighting show by the IED teacher Michela Mazzavilla, a number of workshops including Civic Wise by Domenico di Sienna and Collage Anachronique By Enric Llorach and talks and discussions such as Adhocracy: Making the commons in a World full of Objects by DPR-Barcelona and urban “sharecropping” for a city with no landlords
