COMMUNAL PRACTICE WINS A SILVER LAUS IN THE 2021 ADG LAUS AWARDS
Communal Practice, a project by the 4th year Graphic Design student Kamila Zakhidova, wins a silver LAUS in the 2021 ADG Laus Awards, which recognize the best projects in graphic design and visual communication each year across different categories.
Selected as a candidate in the student section category graphic design, Communal Practice is a brand identity based on a flexible typeface-led system. The typeface (3 variables) is a visual exploration of the question “How much information do we need to understand something?” as a way of re-examining the concept of polarization.
Kamila designed this dynamic typographic system in response to a brief aiming to create a brand identity for a sociocultural organization, from a critical approach that would favour the debate around the construction of new models of social action.
