Claudia Blanes, winner of Swab Stairs 2016
Claudia Blanes, student of the Undergraduate Degree in Graphic Design of IED Barcelona, has been selected by Swab Stairs 2016 contest to exhibit his project “Expuestos” from 3rd to 22nd June 2016 on the steps of the exit Rambla Catalunya/Rossello of Diagonal station of Barcelona underground.
Swab Stairs is a contest part of the “Swab Off” program and the cultural project TMB Culture that aims to link the academic world with the creative transformation of the landscape. Thus, students coming from the most prestigious art and design schools, have the opportunity to show their work at some of the most important metro stations of Barcelona.
Under the theme “Utopic Paradigmas for the Future City”, the goal of Swab Stairs 2016 is propose creative and utopic solutions for the cities of the future, considering urban density, mobility and the positive impact of technology for the achievement of sustainability and social harmony.
In this edition 10 Catalan school, including IED Barcelona, and for the first time, five invited international schools from UK, Algeria, Argentina, Canada and Hong Kong have participated.
