IED continues to operate academically in virtual format until the education authorities inform us of any changes
With relation to the extension of the state of emergency until 11 th April, agreed by the Spanish Congress on 25 th March, we inform you that IED will continue to operate academically in virtual format until the education authorities, with whom we are in permanent contact, inform us of any changes.
We know that you remain attentive to the media, who suggest that the education authorities may be considering a return to the classroom within 15 days. We are obliged to wait to receive further information by official means from the Department of Education about the next steps to be taken, given that it is our duty to ensure the health and well-being of the IED community.
Our regular communication channels remain open to you, and we appreciate the effort and flexibility of all of you in adapting to these new scenarios at this time.

IED Barcelona will remain closed and students, teachers and staff shall continue their normal activities working from home
All facilities of IED Barcelona will remain closed from today on account of the Instruction 1/2020 on the preventative, protective and organisational measures to be applied in the centres and services of Catalan Education Service in view of Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
Despite the suspension of the in – person activities, students shall begin their classes remotely and staff members shall continue their normal activities working from home. We will keep communication channels open to attend to families, students and teachers as required.
IED Barcelona is in permanent contact with the educational authorities of the Generalitat, as well as the health authorities, in order to be able share any updates with you.

IED Barcelona students start their virtual learning today
The academic life of IED Barcelona continues online, after the suspension of in-person lectures instructed by the Government of Catalunya to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Despite the situation, which will last until March 27th or until further notice, the students of IED Barcelona will go on with their lectures through two online campuses: one for students of Undergraduate Degrees, BAs (Hons), IED Diplomas, and Global Design, and another one for students of Master, Postgraduate, and CSP courses.
The learning process will take place through both online classes, together with the teacher and the class group, and individually developed tasks assigned by the teacher.

IED Barcelona suspends in-person classes from tomorrow and keeps the academic life active through online classes
IED Barcelona suspends the in- person classes and activities from tomorrow, Friday 13th March, and until at least Friday 27th March (both included) until further notice, according to the instructions issued by the Government of Catalunya to prevent the spread of COVID – 19.
Over the coming days, we will keep IED’s academic life active through virtual classes. We will share further details on the functioning of these services to our students in the next few hours.
IED Barcelona will continue to ensure the well-being of the community and we are in permanent contact with the educational authorities of the Government of Catalonia, as well as the health authorities, in order to be able to share any updates.
