IED Barcelona dess up The Mexican Catrina

IED Barcelona School of Design presented the exhibition “La Catrina está de moda en Bacelona” created and managed by the artist Jesús Guillén.

Taking the Mexican culture as the starting point, IED Barcelona exhibits a number of sculptures of the iconic character of La Catrina dressed up by renowned Mexican and Spanish designers. Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Roberto Verino, Maya Hansen, Ion Fiz, Ana Locking, Virginia Salvador, María Luisa Sanz, Martín Lamothe and Chu Uroz are some of the Spanish designers that participate. It includes Mexican artists such as Lorena Saravia, Martha Saenz, Carla Fernández, Lydia Lavín, Macario Jiménez and the own Jesús Guillén.

The exhibition includes two pieces of the designers and teachers of IED Barcelona Txell Miras and José Castro, and the student of the BA (Hons) in Fashion Design Sergio Plaza. All the sculptures are made by Jesús Guillén.
