Barcelona Design Week is back from 12 to 20 June with its 14th edition under the title “Transitions” to share the capabilities design can offer and its role in every transition.

IED will be there with a range of activities:

The Toyota WE multidisciplinary project for inclusive mobility will be presented along with a sociology project conducted by fashion students during a workshop which is designed to develop a collective map of social innovation initiatives driven by EDIVI – Education for Living Design.

The teacher Oscar Guayabero from the IED Design Department will be delivering a talk entitled Victor Papanek about the background and legacy of this designer and educator, who is considered one of the forefathers of social activism and sustainability in design.

An exhibition showing the winning projects from the competition “Design. A journey between Italy and Spain” organised by the Italian Embassy in Madrid as part of the ITmakES initiative. The projects carried out by students from the Design Department are now on display at the Enric Miralles Foundation.

An annual fashion show where IED Barcelona displays the final course collections by students from the Undergraduate Degree in Fashion Design and BA (Hons) in Fashion Design.

A conference about Bruno Munari delivered by Raffaella Perrone, the Head of Operations at the Design Department.
