The Summer Course in Interior Decoration and Styling lays out the key research and reflection tools needed in the world of indoor home styling and decoration, offering both theoretical and practical know-how.
As contemporary society evolves, so does the need to generate suitable spaces in which to live, work and socialize, making this one of the major issues we have to address.
The course explores this scenario by analysing and developing a series of experiences that aim to help the student embrace the creative process, right from when an idea first sprouts to its final development. To do so, it is divided into different subjects taught by acclaimed sector professionals, combining theory lectures with practical labs.
The course is geared towards the exploration of a discipline that, behind an appearance of familiarity and normality, requires great knowledge and a meticulous technical command. The latest trends, relationships between colours and combinations of textures and materials are key factors in creating pleasant, harmonious spaces in tune with the needs of today’s individuals.
The course therefore aims to analyse and present a series of experiments whose aim is for the students to internalise the creative process, right from its inception to its final implementation.
This course is organised around several fields of research: the creative process, tools for developing the discipline, and a knowledge and command of materials and trends.
Because of the need for the subjects to co-mingle, the course will consist of a series of practical exercises in which the knowledge gained in theoretical, teacher-led classes will be put into practice. These exercises will also bring the students into contact with the professional realities of the sector, which is another fundamental objective of this course.
The course is divided into a number of subjects taught by some of the best interior designers, with both theoretical classes and practical exercises. The methodology also includes visits to leading showrooms and stores.
The programme is addressed to students, professionals and, in general, all those interested in the field of interior decoration and styling who, either for job-related or personal reasons, require this type of training to become effective participants in an increasingly competitive and changing industry.
Applicants are required to submit a CV and a cover letter (when they do not meet the requirements, the school will evaluate each applicant on an individual basis).
