Introduction
Books, magazines, posters, advertisements, flyers, packaging, labels, brochures, product and company logos, web pages, online and outdoor advertising, etc… Everything that surrounds us in everyday life needs graphic design both for practical purposes and to communicate.
The aim of the Summer Course in Graphic Design is to introduce the students to handling the tools used by visual communications professionals: corporate identity, advertising, packaging, traditional and digital editorial design, motion design, design for the web and social networks, calligraphy, typography, lettering and aesthetic and expressive techniques.
Objectives
The aim of the Summer Course is to introduce the students to the different stages of graphic production by giving them a knowledge of the basic tools and the sequence of processes involved in creating the piece or work.
The course touches on the indispensable software used to develop graphics projects (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, HTML and CSS), the techniques for presenting and creating mock-ups, the creation of budgets and the pre-press, production and post-production processes.
Methodology
The course is based mainly on simulating a professional studio in the classroom and carrying out different projects based on semi-real and real briefings prepared by companies. These exercises will give practice and help the students to understand all the players involved, develop their creative abilities and handle assignments in this field.
As well as the theoretical and practical subjects, the programme includes others to promote creativity and train the students in the way designers think and plan.

This course is mainly intended for those who wish to start out or gain a knowledge of the major graphic project development tools and the basic concepts of graphic design.
