Introduction

The summer course in Fashion Styling offers a wide and specialized perspective of all the necessary elements that are needed to finish a style project. Fashion industry is one of the cultural and economic engines of our european societies. From the luxury sector to the mainstream one. There are so many professionals that offers their knowledge and working capacity to help in the creation, presentation and promotion process of all the products manufactured by the industry.

Fashion stylism has been acquiring a relevant role for designers through all these last years. It gives them the way to achieve new aesthetics formulas. It’s also necessary for presenting new products in a parade, catalogue, storefront or selling points. And also is a principal creative basis in which every season work the specialized fashion editorials.

Once implemented, the aesthetic cultural baggage leads to go deeper into practical matter, starting by the differentiation according to sectors, from luxury to sports, to end up with the creation of looks that connect with the demands and needs of each sector and each project; from trends forecasting, analysis of collections and themes, the editorial proposals for specialized press and sessions of real pictures.

Summer course in Fashion Styling

Objectives

The objectives of the course are:

– Professionalize style and provide knowledge to prepare students in the way to understand the constant sector news.

– Apply this information in the development of own content that can be adapted to several style projects.

– Understand, manage and find a solution in all the different phases til the idea is transformed into a reality.

Methodology

This course combines theoretical areas and practical ones. The first part of the course tries to get deep in the fashion knowledge. The stylist always works with the fashion design products. Is because of that reason that he / she has to understand the perfection of his work. To understand well the complete inspirational related to the fashion designers, the students will receive several classes from head designers, the vanguardist iconography and historic referents. These classes through the projection of visual documentation commented by the teacher.

Second part is focused on the creation of practical projects that are always arranged in class and that tend to be finished at home, for further presentation in class para su posterior presentación en clase. Both parts are combined with interventions by different professional who not only broadly expose their speciality but recount their experiences and projects. This course concludes with a practical exercise and with a real photo session in which the students have to show their abilities, knowledge and sources learned in the course

Fashion and beauty editor. Degree in fashion design. He combines his activities as a fashion and trend editor with styling and window-dressing, as well as teaching topics to do with style and trends. Mr. Vidiella works constantly with big companies such as El Corte Inglés, Armand Basi and Colcci, publications such as b-guided, style web sites such as Centro moda on line, and emerging designers such as El Delgado Buil and artists such as Carles Congost, as well as with institutional projects such as 080 and Modafad.
