Introduction

The summer course in Fashion and Visual merchandising shows how to encourage customers to buy, but mainly, promote the desire of coming back through persuasive communication. Fashion visual merchandising has a language and code itself, and the course is committed to show the latest European and international trends in the industry.

Summer course in Fashion and Visual Merchandising

Objectives

The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to define a ‘sales point’, by analysing the product, the various forms of presentation, and by studying product layout and display. The course will also deal with the basic principles of marketing strategies and how to implement them, guidelines on fashion marketing, and the role of product manager.

Methodology

Combining practical and theoretical classes so to achieve the objectives of the program. A final project is performed by students and it must be submitted the last day of lessons, and also different visits related to course content are done within the schedule.

Student Profile

Fashion or marketing students and people working in the world of fashion. Students without prior knowledge will also be considered.

COORDINATOR

DAVID G. PRIETO

Visual Merchandiser for Elena Miró and Carácter in Madrid and Barcelona. Designer, producer and director of the window displays of the Germaine de Capuccini beauty center in Madrid.

Collaborator as styling assistant in the fashion editorials Vanidad and View of the Times. Responsible for the decoration and artistic lighting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Palace of Santa Cruz (Madrid). Collaborator in the first edition of the Andorra Shoping Festival 2013 and 2014 as window dressing consultant.

He has been the creative director for the window displays of Paramitas in Barcelona, Seville and Madrid from 2008 to 2010. He has also worked for 14 years in different brands of the Inditex Group as responsible for window dressing, as well as for the selection and training of window dressers of Bershka in southern Spain, Portugal, Italy and Mexico, and has been a stylist for Flagman Stores in Lisbon, Seville and Milan.
