Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design, pathway in Fashion Accessories (240 ECTS). Taught in Spanish.

This course trains professionals who can anticipate as well as address and resolve future aesthetic trends and new needs of the fashion market.

It provides a theoretical and cultural foundation that enables students to create an innovative and distinctive aesthetic style in the international fashion market and provides them with great creative expertise to act within an increasingly complex sector.

Students are taught how to create collections of leather goods, footwear, jewellery, hats, textile accessories, etc. by taking into account the fact that an accessory is very much influenced by the fashion sector to which it is addressed. Craft techniques and technology are being increasingly combined, so students must have a knowledge of both

'Freedom of Panorama' collection, by Brenda González

The first year of studies focuses on acquiring the basic concepts of design, culture and project methodology. Designers are taught how to dare to create and communicate.

In the second year, students begin to learn about the specific techniques of fashion: pattern making, modelling, illustration, accessories, history of clothing, etc. Traditional and modern techniques are constantly combined in order to be able to fully confront today’s industry and so that students can identify those that can help them to develop their creativity.

In the third year, students specialise in the pathway of Fashion Accessories. They therefore further explore all the techniques and details of accessories, completing projects where they have to apply both their aesthetics and current trends. Notable among these are a sustainability project and various others geared towards the future in terms of techniques and materials.

During the fourth year, internships are carried out in a company and their final project is completed, which serves as a letter of introduction to the professional world.

The programme is primarily based on a practical methodology that uses experimental projects and business simulations guided by sector professionals.

It is divided into subject modules so that students can complete consecutive projects and not several simultaneously, a more effective process that allows students to improve both concept development and elaboration process.
