Project: Edipo Rey
Pier Paolo Pasolini’s Edipo Rey (1967) poses a challenge from the start: How to keep the essence of Donati’s language, the costume designer of the film, who managed so well to express the inclusive universality of the mythical story? In that search, the need to find a common word that reflected a moment suspended in time, the idea of folklore with a strong reflection on the clothing comes up. The proposed costume mixes several elements of Eastern Europe, Central Europe and Africa.
This project toke part of the exhibition Film a l’Agulla at Filmoteca de Catalunya.
