Master in Innovation Strategies and Entrepreneurship (Intensive)
The Master in Innovation Strategy Entrepreneurship is a response to the need of incorporating innovation to organizations’ strategic management. To apply innovation is a key component to guarantee competitiveness in the current economic and social environment, and it is fundamental in every new venture. Innovation must be understood, not as a phase in a product development, but as a catalyst integrating every aspect related to a product and a service from a new business point of view.
These competences are essential to generate new business opportunities, creating new products, redefining existing products and production processes, promoting new connections between markets and industries.
The objective of the master is to train professionals capable of using innovation as a tool in new business creation, leaders in management of complex processes, able to undertake new challenges generating opportunities and applying change as a key factor in organizations.
Through workshops taught by renowned professionals, lectures and case studies, developing projects in collaboration with companies and in a context of an active environment of analysis and discussion, specific contents will be developed.
From a critical point of view, the course will give the skills to be capable to question the established proceedings, detect improvement opportunities, apply innovative strategies through creativity, undertake new ventures from a multidisciplinary viewpoint, integrating all the involved processes from design point of view.
This Master is addressed to professionals who, regardless of the area they work in, are interested in acquiring specific tools and methodologies for innovation strategic management to be applied as in their own business and projects, as to boost and manage competitiveness in the organizations they work for.
Designers from every discipline, specialists in communication and marketing, as well as those professionals devoted to business and strategic planning, have the adequate profile to become Design Managers.
Also, businessmen and industrials from several sectors, interested in questioning their own production processes and conceptions, will acquire techniques and methodologies to redefine the approach of their business.
Participants will be capable of working in companies and organizations of different sorts, centered on the following areas:

They will acquire the necessary skills to work in multidisciplinary teams, take leadership positions and investigate in the field.
Co-founder Drop-Design for Innovation, an innovation consultant focused on creating exceptional products and services, focused on the user experience and business model. Industrial designer by the University of Buenos Aires, Master’s Degree (DEA) in Innovation Projects by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and Postgraduate in Business Management in the School of Industrial Organization. Previously, he worked Experience Design Lead at HP and as Design & Innovation Manager at the consulting firm Loop Business Innovation. He has been Professor of IED since 2008 and Director of the Innovation Lab of the ESADE MBA. He has extensive experience in different fields of design and innovation in various sectors: consumer electronics, equipment, toys, technology, services, packaging and consumer goods. He has collaborated with multinational companies, SMEs and startups and has carried out projects in Argentina, United States, Spain, England, Italy and Dubai. He has written articles for international magazines and congresses. His work has been published in different magazines and newspapers, and has received design awards in Germany, the United States, Argentina, Spain and Japan.
Co-founder Drop-Design for Innovation, an innovation consultant focused on creating exceptional products and services, focused on the user experience and business model. Graduated in industrial design at Universitá degli Studi di Genova Italia, and later he completed a master’s degree in IED Barcelona. Throughout his professional experience he has developed projects in different sectors of the industry, such as transport, toys, packaging, equipment and consumer goods. He has won several design awards in Spain, Italy, the United States and Hong Kong. Since 2004 he has been teaching at the IED Barcelona in the master area and three-year courses.
The educational planning for all IED Master courses is aligned with the criteria established by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The IED Master program adopts a credit structure that follows the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). IED Master only awards its own private degrees.
