Admission Requirements

The application for all IED Barcelona courses is made directly with the Orientation and Admissions Department Advisors or through an online Admissions Platform . Your Advisor will give you the credentials to access the platform once you want to start the Admission Process.

Undergraduate Degrees in Design

IED Barcelona welcomes applicants who have passed the High School Diploma or similar. For foreign applicants, the validation of the International Degree by the Spanish Education Ministry is compulsory. All applicants should also hold a personal interview with the Information and Guidance Service in order to evaluate their motivations regarding future studies and assess their Spanish or English language level. If the student cannot come personally to IED for the personal interview because of the geographical distance, it can be held by phone or Skype. An admission test will be compulsory, find more information.

BA (Hons) validated by the University Of Westminster

To be accepted you must have passed the High School Diploma or similar, as International College (translated into English or Spanish), and also have a personal interview with the Information and Guidance Service if possible because of the geographical distance. If not, the interview can be held over phone or on Skype. Moreover, there are the following requirements:

  • BA (Hons) in Fashion Design
    • You should give in at least 10 drawings/ sketches
    • Held a motivational interview (in person or by Skype) with the course coordinator
  • BA (Hons) in Fashion Marketing and Communication
    • An essay of 500 words (ask your advise for the topics)
    • English language qualification required (IELTS 6.0 or C1 in the Common European Framework)
    • Be 18 years old by December 31st of the first year of the course
    • A motivational interview (in our school or by Skype) with the course coordinator.

IED Diplomas

IED Barcelona welcomes applicants who have passed the High School Diploma or similar, as International College. All applicants should also hold a personal interview with the Information and Guidance Service in order to assess their Spanish or English language level and explain their motivation regarding future studies. If this option is not possible because of the geographical distance, the interview can be held over the phone or on Skype. Moreover, you must give in a motivation letter, an essay of 500 words (ask your Advisor for the topics) or portfolio (only for the Diploma IED in Creative Advertising and Branding) and hold and interview with the course coordinator in order to assess your English level.

Masters

Professional Masters:
– ID (Spanish students) or Passport (international students) scanned
– University Diploma (Bachelor, Undergraduate Degree or equivalent) scanned
– Motivation Letter in the Master’s language
– CV in the Master’s language specifying languages level and computer skills
– Advanced knowledge of Spanish or English as appropriate. For courses taught in English requires an intermediate level, corresponding to a paper TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6,5. For courses in Spanish requires a level B2.  In case you don’t have any qualification, it will be necessary to assess your level through an in-person or Skype interview
– Portfolio for creative Masters

Research Study Programs (RSP) Masters:
– 1 year of professional experience after the completion of university studies
– ID (Spanish students) or Passport (international students) scanned
– University Diploma (Bachelor, Undergraduate Degree or equivalent) scanned
– Motivation Letter in English
– CV in English specifying languages level and computer skills
– Advanced knowledge of Spanish or English as appropriate. For courses taught in English requires an intermediate level, corresponding to a paper TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6,5. For courses in Spanish requires a level B2.  In case you don’t have any qualification, it will be necessary to assess your level through an in-person or Skype interview

Postgraduates

– ID (Spanish students) or Passport (international students) scanned
– University Diploma (Bachelor, Undergraduate Degree or equivalent) scanned
– Motivation Letter in the Postgraduate’s language
– CV in the Postgraduate’s language specifying languages level and computer skills
– Advanced knowledge of Spanish or English as appropriate. For courses taught in English requires an intermediate level, corresponding to a paper TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6,5. For courses in Spanish requires a level B2.  In case you don’t have any qualification, it will be necessary to assess your level through an in-person or Skype interview
– Portfolio for creative Postgraduates

Continuing Study Programs (CSP) and Summer Courses

Introductory courses:
– ID (Spanish students) or Passport (international students) scanned
– Diploma (minimum studies required: High school) scanned
– Motivation Letter in the course’s language
– CV in the course’s language specifying languages level and computer skills
– Advanced knowledge of Spanish or English as appropriate. For courses taught in English requires an intermediate level, corresponding to a paper TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6,5. For courses in Spanish requires a level B2.  In case you don’t have any qualification, it will be necessary to assess your level through an in-person or Skype interview

Advanced courses:
– Previous academic or professional knowledge related to the course area/subject
– ID (Spanish students) or Passport (international students) scanned
– Diploma of studies scanned (maximum level of studies acquired)
– Motivation Letter in the course’s language
– CV in the course’s language specifying languages level and computer skills
– Advanced knowledge of Spanish or English as appropriate. For courses taught in English requires an intermediate level, corresponding to a paper TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6,5. For courses in Spanish requires a level B2.  In case you don’t have any qualification, it will be necessary to assess your level through an in-person or Skype interview
– Portfolio for creative courses
